About Maria Teresa
The Rev. Maria Teresa Bautista-Berrios graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2018 and recently received her Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary. Before pursuing her call to ordained ministry, she worked as a community organizer for TMO, a campus mission associate for Houston Canterbury, and a church planter for Northshore Episcopal Church. As a proud PK (priest-kid), Maria Teresa is the daughter of the Reverend Simón Bautista Betances and Amarilis Vargas-Bautista. She is married to Fabian Berrios, and together they have their beloved and beautiful daughter, Camila, and their sweet pup, Noelani. Following her ordination in June 2024, Maria Teresa has been called to serve as the curate at Trinity Episcopal Church, where she is excited to learn and serve. This Sunday, October 4th she returns in her new role as Associate Rector.
