What a joy it is to introduce you to Trinity Episcopal Church in Midtown, Houston! At Trinity you’ll find a message you can understand and people you can relate to. Our doors are wide open to everyone from all backgrounds, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey.
We invite you to come as you are and start a new season of spiritual growth in your life. We believe church is more than just a building or organization; it is a community of people walking through life together, lending strength and support to one another in the good times and bad.
Hello friends: Here’s an opportunity to serve. Please REPLY TO [email protected] if you can serve as Usher at any of these times in May or June. If you serve, you still need to reserve a seat in the service.
1. Arrive about 15-20 minutes prior to the service start and find a thermometer, sign-in sheet, and seating instruction cards. Also some visitor information cards.
2. Check the temperature of everyone who comes in and ask them to sign in on the printed list. Walk-ins are welcome too. Get contact info from visitors.
3. Explain the seating: If you are a party of one, find a seat with one service folder and, in the Chapel, a cushion on it. Party of two – find a bench/or pew set up for 2, etc. This is printed on little cards at the door. Help in case of confusion, and don’t move the benches or cushions/folders, if possible. Use your best judgment to maintain social distancing and welcome attendees.
4. Gently discourage congregating in the small lobby areas – Ask people to go ahead and find their seats before the service and to move on outside after the service. Friendly diplomacy needed here. Above all, avoid harsh demands.
5. At the 8:00 am service, we can use two people – a “Greeter” to stay at the sign-in table and an “Usher” to take temps and guide seating. At the 10:30 service, we need two greeters and two ushers. There will be a greeter at Holman Street doors and at Main Street doors. Then an usher at the back of the church and an usher at the door by from the hall.
Please let me know if you can serve at either service on the following dates:
