Community Outreach: Sleeping bag project for Lord of the Streets.
Please join us to provide warmer nights to our neighbors who sleep on the streets.
With your donation of $50, earmarked for Sleeping Bags, we will purchase 5 sleeping bags to be distributed to our neighbors when the weather begins to cool, hopefully around Christmas time.
They are $9.99 at Academy with a limit of 5 per day per purchaser. We will buy and distribute them as long as supplies last and we have funds. Any money left over will go for blankets, hoodies or other warm items You can buy the sleeping bags in several ways:
1. The Easiest – Donate to Lord of the Streets online, and be sure to earmark your donation for Sleeping Bags in the “Additional Comments” box before you submit your donation. Here’s the link: https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/LordoftheStreets/onlinedonations.html
2. The Most Economical – Send a check for $50 to Lord of the Streets, 3401 Fannin, Houston TX 77004. Be sure to add Sleeping Bag Project in the Memo line.
3. Convenient for some: Give a check, made out to Lord of the Streets with “Sleeping Bags” in the memo line, to Linda Davenport.
4. Hands On Giving – Order, pick up, and deliver to LOTS. https://www.academy.com/p/magellan-outdoors-rectangle-sleeping-bag-108856716?sku=blue-45-degrees or bring your own gently used sleeping bags to Trinity Episcopal Church or LOTS. Ask ask staff for a receipt for your tax purposes.
LOTS provides tax donation receipt letters in January each year and your donations will be acknowledged at that time.
