Youth Encounter Spirit (Y.E.S.)
A Youth Encounter Spirit (Y.E.S.) weekend brings together members of the 6th-8th-grade youth of the Diocese of Texas as a Christian community. The focus is on "who Christ is." Y.E.S. helps foster a clearer appreciation of self, richer relationships with others, and a deeper experience with Jesus. The aim is for those who attend to discover new things about themselves, their relationships, God, and the church. The weekend is designed to provide an atmosphere of openness where participants can ask questions and have the freedom to explore answers without fear of judgment. A team of adults and teens plan and run the weekend. There are two adults who are called "Lead Adults," and at least one priest who is called the "Spiritual Director." Music and games are a very important part of the weekend.
The registration fee for the Y.E.S. weekend is $65 and includes meals and lodging.

The Diocesan Youth Ministry has three winter retreats designed to give diocesan youth a chance to take a break and draw nearer to God for a weekend of relaxation, fun, and worship. Think of it as a week-long camp crammed into two-and-a-half days! Each retreat is directed by a youth or children’s minister in the diocese and staffed with a team of adult sponsors and college counselors.
All three retreats take place at Camp Allen once a year. The Intermediate and Jr. High Retreats run during the same weekend in the spring, and the Sr. High “Midwinter” Retreat takes place at the end of December. The Intermediate Retreat is for grades 4 through 6, Junior High Retreat for grades 6 through 8, and Senior High Midwinter Retreat for grades 9 through 12.
The cost for each retreat is $75, which covers lodging, food, and a really cool t-shirt.
High School Midwinter: December 26-28, 2019
Junior High & Intermediate Retreats: March 6-8, 2020
