Youth Fellowship

Episcopal Youth Community (E.Y.C.)

Trinity’s Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is for those entering 6th-12th grade. Youth participate in fellowship events at the church and in the community, have educational events, and in service projects. Youth also participate in special events at the church throughout the year. Youth take part in Diocesan mission trips, camps, and other activities. Youth also participate in events that partner with nearby church youth groups. The youth have shared meeting space above the kitchen featuring air hockey, a pool table, Ping-Pong, and comfortable spaces to congregate. For information about the Episcopal Youth Community please contact George Zemanek at [email protected] or Shelby Bradley at [email protected].

Happening

A weekend renewal retreat for high school youth in the Diocese of Texas, The Happening Movement is a powerful instrument of renewal in the Church. Its purpose is to concentrate closely on the person and teaching of Jesus Christ. Our faith is seriously examined in a relaxed, fun, informal, and loving atmosphere. The Happening weekend is an experience that gives those who attend the desire to understand and serve God through his Church.

Confirmation:

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the candidates “express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop” (BCP, p. 860). Youth attend classes during the school year and participate in a service project to prepare them to make a mature public affirmation of their faith, recommit themselves to the responsibilities of their baptism, and receive laying on of hands by a bishop.
