“From the Ethereal to Tangible” is a group exhibition featuring 46 photographers (6 women and 40 men) artists native to or currently living in Latin America . The exhibition is produced and presented by the 2021 ESFOTO Biennial exhibition in El Salvador. The exhibition is a curatorial collaboration between Moises Castillo (Guatemala AP Photographer & Co-Editor ) and Edgar Romero (El Salvador-Director of the Center of Photography and ESFOTOPERIODISMO Biennial)
The task of selecting one hundred photographs, as a significant sample of what is happening in the Central American region, is complex. This photographic choice of the representation of our environment and contextual reality allows us to understand everything that is built in our daily lives. Among this, those ideological elements that are manifested day by day in politics, economy, beliefs and other manifestations of regional culture. This selection is grouped for this edition into seven categories: portraits; sports; medium environment; news; daily life; migration; and, society and conflict. All these photographs were shown in the Central American media, both printed and virtual, in which the photojournalists who participate here work.
